A Silly Love Poem

as if I know anything of love

I feed off of your half-thoughts
and mindless compliments.
I gather up the dandelions you toss
and treasure them
like lovely lilies.
As I bind them with satin,
I inhale their earthiness.
Placing them in water,
I try to keep them alive
just a little longer.
I try to keep you alive
just a little longer.
